Our Mission
Voice Up Publishing, Inc. is a purpose-driven public health startup and grassroots movement founded in November 2024. We operate as a first-of-its-kind action think tank grounded in IRB-approved doctoral research.
In just 21 months of operation, our impact has been significant — the J Ellington catalog has generated an estimated 1,245,000+ lifetime streams across 134+ countries since September 2024, achieved on a SoundCloud subscription of just $16 per month with no paid advertising. We've also convened a global ecosystem of universities, nonprofits, and public health leaders, documenting a 56% reduction in anxiety among participants.
Music as a Vehicle for Purpose
Unlike traditional music platforms, J Ellington functions as a purpose-driven creative laboratory where music strengthens mental health, encourages meaningful conversations, fosters global collaboration, and helps communities experience the love of God.
Intern Focus Areas
Choose one or more areas that align with your gifts and goals
Music Creation & Artist Collaboration
- Support collaborative songwriting and music development within the J Ellington platform
- Assist with coordinating global artist collaborations
- Help document creative processes and artist stories
- Contribute ideas for new music initiatives and projects
Faith-Based Music Education
- Assist with integrating J Ellington music into university courses and workshops
- Support development of introductory faith-based music curriculum
- Help organize resources used in undergraduate and graduate courses
- Document how music contributes to leadership development and purpose discovery
Research, Documentation & Impact Measurement
- Document stories of transformation and encouragement connected to music
- Track music streaming impact and audience engagement
- Support research exploring the connection between music, faith, and mental health
- Assist with preparing documentation that demonstrates program outcomes
Outreach, Partnerships & Global Artist Engagement
- Identify musicians and vocalists interested in joining the Voice Up ecosystem
- Support outreach to churches, universities, and community organizations
- Help expand the Voice Up global artist network
- Assist with documenting partnership conversations with institutions and ministries

Participation Pathways
Academic Credit Internship
Earn course credit while contributing to real music and ministry projects.
Volunteer Participation
Engage as a volunteer and gain hands-on experience in purpose-driven music.
Voice Up University Enrollment
Enroll in the Voice Up Leadership Lab for a structured learning pathway.
All participants are expected to embody the five Voice Up principles throughout their engagement.
